Since ages black pigs have been appreciated as a pets in Majorca. The traditional manufactory Cuixot de Porc Negre Mallorquí specializes in the production of sausage and ham from the black pig. Lots of peppers give a nice reddish color to the sausage,which is easy to cut. Salt and garlic in addition give the typical taste. The sausage is fine "solo" as a tapa, and can also be cooked, fried or grilled. The aroma is best developed when the sausage is airy for 5 minutes before eating. Short term availability. Delivery from 8th of November

The traditional Mallorcan manufactory "Cuixot de Porc Negre Mallorquín" specialises in the production of sausage and ham from the black pig. The philosophy of the Mallorcan company is to produce only products of hearty and highest quality. For this purpose, the typical Mallorca pigs are selected according to the strictest criteria. The first-class quality of the sausage specialities from Mallorca is subject to permanent control. The black pig is a unique breed on Mallorca. Its unmistakable characteristics are the black colour, the symphatically forward hanging floppy ears and the two skin flaps on the neck. The black pig from Mallorca is fun-loving, harmonious, rustic and strong. It was one of the first domestic animals to be settled in Mallorca and has had an exceptional importance in the family economy of the rural population for several centuries. From an early age, the founder of the company, Mallorcan Jose Abellan, has been passionate about the autochthonous Porc Negre pig. Extremely loving and caring rearing coupled with special, balanced nutrition makes it possible to produce Mallorcan sausages of exclusive quality.
