The Mallorcan ham from the "Cuixot de Porc Negre Mallorquin" manufactory is characterised by a long maturing period. The black pigs, traditional domestic animals in Mallorca, are kept free-range naturally and are fed on an almond base for the Cuixot.
Cuixot was born out of an obsession to produce the first and only 100% Mallorcan black pig ham with the same high quality as an acorn-fed Iberian ham, but raised on the farm in Petra on the island of Mallorca and fed on almonds.

Its unmistakable characteristics are the black colour, the symphatically forward hanging floppy ears and the two skin flaps on the neck. The black pig from Mallorca is fun-loving, harmonious, rustic and strong. It was one of the first domestic animals to be settled in Mallorca and has had an exceptional importance in the family economy of the rural population for several centuries. From an early age, the founder of the company, Mallorcan Jose Abellan, has been passionate about the autochthonous Porc Negre pig.
