La Luna spicy Longaniza

The spicy sausage it’s made with the same pasta as the sobrasada, the difference is that it has been stuffed into a fine casing to speed up the curing process so it’s able to consume as soon as possible. The paprika gives it a bright red color and serve as a preservative.

The Mallorcan people consume it with brown bread or toasted on the grill, it is simply delicious.

The vacuum-packed sausage should be removed from the packaging immediately upon arrival and stored in the traditional way (hanging in a cool and dark place). In this case, the packaging serves only to protect the product during its transportation.

The longaniza or sobrasada is made with lean meat and shredded pork fat; seasoned with plenty of sweet paprika, hot paprika and salt. Company created in 1900 by José Aguiló and the first Mallorcan company in the manufacture of typical mallorcan sausages. They started to distribute their products beyond the Spanish borders very quickly. Since 1980, it has become part of the Frau family which has given it its modernity without forgetting the traditional culture.

Exudation of fatty juice is possible. During storage, natural white / gray / green mold can develop on the sausage skin. This is a natural process that results from the leakage of fat and minerals; simply wash it off.

Store at temperatures of 5-10ºC.
