In 2007, the Morey-Garau family opened a state-of-the-art winery in the centre of the island, equipped with the very latest technology. Since then, the family has been cultivating high-quality grapes in an environmentally friendly way on 55 hectares in and around Binissalem and Consell.
The label of her first wine, Ses Nines, shows our mother as a child playing in the street of her hometown, Consell, one of those villages with a wine-growing tradition in the Raiguer region. That little girl, who came from a family of peasants, inherited a small vineyard in Consell that was more than 35 years old, planted exclusively with the native Manto Negro grape. Thanks to this small piece of land and the love and care she had for it, she and the other members of her family, the Morey Garau family, became enthusiastic about the idea of building a winery to produce their own wines. The idea gained momentum and it was in 2004 when the architectural project to build the Celler Tianna Negre began. With perseverance and enthusiasm, Celler Tianna Negre opened its doors for the first harvest in 2007.
