The olive varieties Picual or Arbequina each give the oil its distinctive taste. The oil from the Arbequina olive tastes slightly nutty with a hint of almond and is beautifully mild. In contrast, the oil from the Picual olive surprises with a fine note of spicy sharpness.
Both cold-pressed olive oils are silky smooth in the mouth and very suitable for salads and fresh dishes and can also be drizzled over fish, meat or vegetables or pasta.
